is the deputy concert master of the cello section of the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra. In addition to his musical career, he is an enthusiastic maker of music videos under the Czellor Films brand. His videos have featured names such as conductor Jakub Hrůša, the ensembles České noneto, Pavel Haas Quartet, Epoque Quartet and Škampa Quartet, vocalist Petr Nekoranec, pianists Miroslav Sekera and Jana Bartoš, and the orchestras Academy of Chamber Music, Collegium Marianum, and the Czech Philharmonic. Last but not least, Jakub lovingly produces all the Ševčík Academy’s videos.
Jakub began playing the cello at the age of five under Mirko Škampa. Later, he continued at the Jan Neruda Secondary School of Music in Prague, in the joint class of Mirko and Martin Škampa. In 2004 he was accepted as a student of the Prague Conservatory, where he studied under Vladan Kočí and graduated with a performance of Bohuslav Martinů’s Cello Concerto No. 1. He completed his studies at the University of Performing Arts in Prague under Jiří Hošek and Daniel Vies. He gained his first orchestral experience in the legendary Prague Student Orchestra, with which he also had the opportunity to perform as a soloist under the conductors Jakub Hrůša, Marko Ivanović and Ondřej Kukal.
